Happy Monday... today is a brief life update and gearing up for the rest of 2024!
I was sad to hear that Maggie Smith (also known as The Dowager Countess, Professor McGonagall, and the Reverend Mother) died last week. Rest in peace!
Kyndal Faith had five hours of club volleyball tryouts yesterday. (2.5 hours for Oklahoma Peak then 2.5 hours for Charge... insane and irritating to me that they put them all on the same day). She made the Charge 11s team she was hoping for with Coach Rose, so hooray for that!
In other delightful news, I passed my CPCE (Counseling Professional Comprehensive Examination) early Saturday morning!! One step closer to graduation, and that gives me more confidence for the National Counselor Exam next month!
I spent a good portion of the past weekend on Picaboo working hard to narrow down and creatively arrange five years of photos into two thick scrapbooks in time for their major sale that ends today... DONE and ordered! =) Grateful for all the fun events and personal growth represented here... and excited to see the books in person when they arrive!!

My fourth-quarter focus is as follows:
1. Union with Jesus -- seeking Him first... pressing into God's Word and prayer and the RELATIONSHIP with Jesus (over head knowledge or looking for synchronicities as "signs" from Him)
2. Strong & Healthy Body -- working on food habits and mindset with Rachel & Emily; Peloton HCOTF workouts 6 days a week and walking the Half-Marathon with Kristin
3. Career Decision -- pass the NCE, update my resume to reflect that, consider all available options, narrow it to my top 3-5 and send out applications, and (Lord willing) officially decide on my next step moving forward!!
In some of the more difficult conversations this month, I realized I haven't fully understood or communicated my priorities well. I want to be more clear about that going forward. Donald Miller says you should always have 3 meaningful goals you're working toward -- (more would be overwhelming and cloud your focus, and fewer would be too narrow). So much feels up in the air for me right now, and I do not love that feeling. But I can't afford to wallow in a fog of being overwhelmed or feeling paralyzed by overthinking. For this specific season, my top priorities need to be my spiritual life, my physical health, and my future career path... trumping any goals related to finances, future education, emotional growth, dating/marriage, adoption/parenting, socializing/making new friends, book writing, etc. The other categories may get promoted and take precedence in 2025, but this gives me clarity to focus on what matters most right now and avoid getting sidetracked.
One big test down, one to go!
7.5 semesters of grad school down, .5 to go!
21 required courses down, 3 to complete!
Three quarters of 2024 down, one to go!

Fourth-quarter comeback - let's freaking go!! #maximumeffort
Okay, I'm done now. In case no one else tells you today, I want to tell you that I love you and I believe in you, and I believe in your ability to FINISH STRONG!!
